Online surveys with simple yes/no questions can be created with just a few clicks. Yes/no questions are suitable for both short questionnaires and more complex questionnaires (e.g. as an introductory and/or filter question).
The question type “Yes/No question” is one of the standard elements in the HeyForm, which you can transfer to your questionnaire with a click. After you have clicked on the question type, you can still choose between different alignments (horizontal or vertical) and representations.
Yes/No questions: drop-down view
After saving, you can edit the question again if necessary and display the answers as a drop-down list, for example.
Yes/No questions with stored results
For the type “single choice” (not for drop-down lists) you can also display the results of the answers given so far in the questionnaire if required. You can select this option in the advanced settings.
Yes/no questions as initial and filter questions
By the way, yes/no questions are also well suited as initial questions and filter questions for longer questionnaires. Depending on the participant’s answer, you can then ask different follow-up questions. Filter questions and branches/jumps can therefore be used, for example, right at the beginning of the questionnaire to send participants on different answer paths.
A classic example: “Do you know product XY?”
If “Yes” follows the question >> “How do you rate product XY?”
If “No,” the question follows >> “Would you like to learn more about product XY?”
You can achieve such a questionnaire dynamic e.g. by “conditional visibilities”. By so-called visibility conditions, which you set up yourself, you can selectively show or hide questions, text blocks, pages, and also answer options.
